“Anyway, I was hoping to get some clothes from the town before we left, but well. That didn’t go down so well, I’ve got some spare clothes though, help yourself we’ve not much choice, you’re not walking around like that.” Abel informs as Airi once again rummages through his backpack to find said clothes. Abel stands up and with a slight limp, walks over to a thick oak tree a few feet in front of them as Airi changes into the spare shirt and shorts that she retrieved from the backpack, Abel puts his stained shirt back on while Airi offers the jumper back, Abel shakes his head and she puts the jumper back on.
“We’re not too far from another town, let’s just hope they’re a little friendlier, maybe then we can get you some nice clothes and some supplies for whatever journey we’ll have to make now.” Abel explains.
“Thank you…” Airi mutters, feeling a little depressed.
“Enough already, I just did what I wanted to do.” Abel replies.
“Though there’s something I’ve been meaning to ask you, what’s with the ribbon thing in your hair?” Abel asks, pointing at the strange ribbon in Airi’s hair with several symbols sprawled across it.
“Oh, that’s another seal. When they sealed me in the Underworld jail, they placed this seal on me so that if I ever broke free, I wouldn’t be able to use any of my powers.” Rika explains.
“That doesn’t even make any sense then? Why if they sealed your powers away, were they even afraid of you?” Abel ask, rhetorically astounded.
“It’s simply because of what I am, nothing more, nothing less.” Airi shrugs.
“And that’s why I freed you, I couldn’t bare to let that go on.”
Abel continued. “You never had to do that, but…Thank you” Airi says, keeping her head down to hide her face because she’s blushing uncontrollably again.
“What about your ears? And the tail?”
“I’m not human remember? My demon form is a horse, thus the ears and tail.” Airi explains, irritated. “I’ve never seen a demon before so I was curious, they’re actually pretty cute.” Abel replies, smiling.
“Uh, thanks..” Airi murmurs, shyly. The two of them then continue down the path towards town, Abel still with a limp even after their short rest and Airi trailing behind him feeling to blame for the events leading up to now.
When they reached the suburban town of Mossler, Airi gawks at all the sights, strange oval carriages with no horses rolling around emitting plumes of smoke, people wearing strange clothing and the buildings of odd design and made with bizarre materials, she was utterly dumbfounded as they walked the streets lined with some sort of solid rock, there was so much loud noise Airi was struggling to focus on one thing at a time and was becoming disoriented, so much so that out of fear she clung to Abel which made him up jump slightly a little out of pain, more so of surprise at her sudden action, never the less he chuckles quietly to himself as the two of them press onward.
Finally they come across a general store that sells both clothing and supplies, opening the door with a ring of an overhead bell they walk into the store, Airi looks up at the bell with bewilderment and childlike curiosity, this world is so new and so alien to her, completely different from the world she grew up in, she reaches up to the bell but it’s too high for her to reach, she continues to try and touch the bell while Abel buys some supplies, still
though she can’t reach the bell, becoming frustrated she starts frantically jumping up and flailing her arms about in the hopes she’ll reach it, furious and exhausted she gives up and hangs her head as she shuffles over towards Abel who’s in the middle of purchasing supplies when a customer walks in from behind and the bells rings again, Airi darts around to see a young woman in a long, simple, white dress walk through the door, with a bob cut of wavy ash blonde hair, aqua coloured eyes and a slender figure, Airi stares at her as she walks past and starts browsing the store as Floren comes up behind her
“You’re staring” Abel teases.
“Am not!” Airi replies.
“Either way, come over here I want you to try something.” Abel says, walking towards the clothing section.
